Questions

What people ask, answered plainly

The things people actually ask, answered without the hedging.

01

Is parking straightforward in Greenford?

More often than in most of London. A good share of the interwar stock has driveways or a front garden that has become one, and the residential roads are wide enough to stand on. The Broadway and the streets immediately around it are the exception, and a few roads near the stations are controlled.

02

What is the housing like?

Predominantly interwar semis and terraces on long residential roads, with ex-council houses and maisonettes around the Broadway, newer flats near the stations, and larger family housing towards Perivale and Sudbury Hill.

03

Do you do maisonettes?

Regularly — they are a Greenford staple. The external stair and the shared entrance are what decide the day, and both get looked at before anything is priced.

04

Do the volumes catch people out?

Frequently. These are houses families have been in for decades, with a loft, a garage and a shed that between them often hold as much as a room. All three are coming and none of them show on a floor plan.

05

Can you store things between places?

Yes — wrapped, listed on an inventory and racked indoors, collected as part of the same move. Chains here run as long as anywhere in London.

06

How do you work out a price?

Volume, access at both ends, how much packing you want done, and distance. Nothing else — not how urgent it sounds, not the season, and not what another firm quoted.

07

Does a survey cost anything?

No, and there is no obligation. For most Greenford addresses a video call does it; for maisonettes and anything with an awkward external stair we would rather come and look.

08

Is the A40 a factor?

For timing. Western Avenue runs along the top of the area and is busy at predictable hours. That is a planning question rather than an access one, and it is answered by choosing the loading window at survey.

09

Do you move ex-council houses?

Constantly, and they are among the easier buildings here — solidly built with generous rooms, wide internal doorways and proper stairs.

10

Are my things insured?

Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything genuinely valuable at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies.

11

Do you pack, or is that on me?

Either, or a split. The usual arrangement is that you do the books, the clothes and the garage and we do the kitchen, the glass and the pictures.

12

Do you move pianos?

Uprights routinely, with the correct board and straps. Grands we assess first, and out of a maisonette with an external stair we would rather bring in a piano specialist.

13

What if my completion slips?

The load stays on the vehicle or goes into store overnight rather than onto a driveway. We tell you plainly what that means for the booking rather than sending a surprise invoice.

14

Do you do office moves?

Small commercial — units and workshops on the estates along Greenford Road and Western Avenue, plus offices and practices around the Broadway. Out of hours usually makes most sense.

15

Do you cover Ealing, Northolt or Harrow?

Northolt and the Sudbury Hill edge, yes. Ealing and Harrow have their own coverage on our network and we do not poach them; for London-wide moves our pan-London sister sites are the better fit.

16

Can you collect from two addresses?

Yes. Two households merging, or a house plus a storage unit emptied on the way. Mention both so the route and timing are costed from the start.

17

How far ahead should I book?

As soon as you have a date, even provisional. Fridays and month-ends go first everywhere in London.

18

Why is the site not green?

Because the town is called Greenford and that is a place name, not a colour. We would rather look like a firm with a considered identity than one that took the first joke available.

19

Who handles the customs paperwork on a European move?

We do, built from the survey inventory. Since the UK left the EU a household move needs a proper packing list and the destination country's transfer-of-residence process, and each of the four differs.

Still not answered?

Put it in the notes on the quote form. Services covers what we do, coverage covers where, and European removals covers moves that leave the country.

Moving in Greenford?

Send both addresses and a rough idea of what is coming. We survey — at the property or by video — and come back with a written quote.
